A Short Review on Thermoelectric Glazing for Sustainable Built Environment

Securing net-zero targets by employing sustainable materials for the built environment is highly desirable, and this can be achieved retrofitting existing non-smart windows with thermoelectric (TE) glazing, providing improved thermal performance along green electricity production. It reported that TE glazing could produce ~4000 kWh of power per year in a cold climate temperature differential ~22 °C. This feature drives their emplacement as an alternative to lead identification optimum solutions smart window development. However, few attempts have been made employ glazing. Therefore, brief review, we discuss, first time, efforts identify drawbacks, discuss potential solutions. Furthermore, working principle, suitable materials, methods developing are discussed. In addition, article introduces new research area provides researchers detailed instructions on how build optimize system.
